FX dramas return

Dirt and The Riches both recently returned for their second seasons. So far, I think Dirt has gone downhill since it's first season. I've only seen one episode of The Riches so far, but it seems on par with the first season. Either way, I'm always entertained by the shows on FX.

Dirt - Sundays, 9pm/central
The Riches - Tuesdays, 9pm/central

new FOX dramas

Two new dramas recently premiered on FOX, and I have to say that I'm liking both of them so far.

The first is New Amsterdam - about an immortal detective, John Amsterdam, who is 400+ years old. What makes this show interesting is that there are flashbacks of his life. He's on a quest to find "the one," who will be the love of his life but ultimately turn him mortal.

The second is Canterbury's Law, starring Juliana Margulies (ER). This is basically a rip-off of Damages on FX, but it's still pretty good. Margulies stars as Elizabeth Canterbury, a cutthroat defense attorney who will do almost anything to help her clients. However, the show also explores her emotional and personal life - something that Damages did not do.

Both are worth checking out - for the meantime, anyways. Regularly scheduled programming returns on the major networks starting the beginning of April.

star trek: the original series

Yes, I know this makes me sound like a HUGE nerd, but CBS.com has the entire original Star Trek series available online for free! I grew up with my Dad always having this on, but I don't actually remember any of it. So I think I might start watching from the beginning...

PS. Even though it has a huge cult following, the original series only lasted three seasons.
